CENTERS FOR INTERNATIONAL PROGRAMS - KENYA :PUBLIC HEALTH EVALUATION POSITIONS
International Centre for AIDS Care and Treatment Programs (ICAP) -Kenya of Columbia University
is working in partnership with the Ministry of Public Health and Sanitation and the Ministry of Medical Services to strengthen HIV Prevention Care and Treatment services at provincial and district health facilities. This program is part of a US Government initiative against HIV in Kenya that receives funding from PEPFAR through the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC). Candidates are sought for several positions within an evaluation of Prevention with Positives Intervention Programme, which will be conducted in Central Kenya.
Evaluation Coordinator
Location: Thika, Ruiru, Kangema, Kiambu, Nyeri, Murang’a
Overall Responsibilities:
The Evaluation Coordinator will be responsible for the coordination of data collection and for the
supervision of interviewers to ensure study objectives are met.
Key Responsibilities:
•
Oversee evaluation operations of each site.
•
Perform on-site quality control for data collection.
•
Assist with chart data extraction and clinic data collection.
•
Conduct health care provider and lay counselor observations.
•
Perform interviewer duties when needed.
Requirements:
•
Diploma in Nursing/Clinical Medicine or Degree in Social Sciences.
•
At least two year’s experience collecting data.
Research Assistant
Location: Thika, Ruiru, Kangema, Kiambu, Nyeri, Murang’a
Key Responsibilities:
• Obtain patient consent to participate in the evaluation and conduct patient interviews
• Obtain consent and perform interviews with healthcare providers and lay counselors
• Maintain participant folders
• Assist the site coordinator in follow-up and patient tracing
• Assist in setting project logistics and perform on-site quality control for data collection
Requirements:
• Diploma in Nursing or Degree/Diploma in Science/Social Sciences
• At least six month’s experience in data collection and research experience.
